THE ROLE:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of financial planning, analysis, and reporting at CubicFarms. The Finance Manager will play a key role in shaping our financial strategy, ensuring accurate reporting, maintaining budget discipline, and supporting our rapid growth. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Develop and manage financial models, forecasts, and budgets aligned with company goals.
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders (including auditors and tax advisors).
- Analyze financial results and provide actionable insights to leadership.
- Monitor KPIs, cash flow, and working capital to support business decision-making.
- Support funding initiatives, grant applications, and investor relations with relevant financial data and analysis.
- Drive financial process improvements and implementation of best practices across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, sales, and R&D teams on financial planning and resource allocation.
- Perform continuous assessment of the close process and identify methods to reduce the time to close the financial period
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
- Completion of professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA)
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally in a manufacturing, ag-tech, or startup environment.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, and forecasting.
- Experience with ERP/accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).
- Advanced Excel skills and financial modeling capability.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, mission-driven, self-led environment with evolving priorities.
